Video and Audio media are provided at both
high and low quality.
If you have a low bandwith access (modem
dial-up connection,) choosing the lower
quality media will give you smoother play-
back. If you choose to access the high
quality media, you will be much more likely
to experience pauses and gaps in the media
playback.
If you have a high bandwith access (T1, DSL,
Cable) you will be able to playback the high
quality media easily and smoothly.
The difference between high and low quality
can be defined by the size of the file. For
video, the screen size is smaller for the low
quality (smaller file, smaller size.) The lower
quality audio file(smaller file) will only be
noticeable at higher speaker volumes, where
you may notice a less refined sound quality
or drop-out.
If you are on a dial-up connection but want to
access the high quality media, we suggest
downloading the file to your own system first
by selecting the "dowload" option instead of
"play." The playback will be fine when run
locally from your own system.
If you have other questions, please look at
HELP: MEDIA PLAYER
This means that your Player has moved to the
layer behind the main window.
PC: look at your desktop tool bar at the
bottom of the screen. You will see two web
browser window buttons. Select the one that
says "Player."
Mac: Drag all of your windows out of the way
until you find the player window.
If you continue experiencing difficulties,
please go to HELP: MEDIA PLAYER
-Do you see the progress bar on the Player
moving? If not, it could be that the track
wasn't properly activated. Try selecting both
the "PLAY" button on the Media Player and
the "Listen" or "Watch" button located just
below the track you originally selected.
-You can also hover your cursor over the top
of the window bar on the player. If it is an
hourglass this means the audio track is still
downloading.
If the track is definitely playing:
-FIRST, check the "mute" option on the Player.
If the speaker icon on the toolbar has the
"no sound" icon (circle with a diagonal bar),
click select this once with your mouse cursor.
*insert the sound off and sound on graphics of the player*
-SECOND, check your computer's external
speaker volume setting and cable connection.
-THIRD, check your computer's internal
speaker volume settings.
PC: the lower right corner of your desktop
toolbar has a speaker icon. Click on this. You
will see a volume control and a mute option
checkbox. Make sure that the checkbox is
unchecked.
Mac: Open your Control Strip and find the
volume button (Looks like a speaker). To be
absolutely sure, put the volume as high as it
will go.
If you continue experiencing difficulties,
please go to HELP: MEDIA PLAYER
-It could be that the track wasn't properly
activated. Try selecting the "PLAY" button
located just below the track you want to listen
to.
-If it still is not working, it could be that the
internet connection is experiencing momen-
tary difficulties.
-Close the player window and open it again.
-If all else fails download the file and listen to
it from your desktop.
