MEDIA PLAYER TROUBLESHOOTING
GENERAL

MEDIA PLAYER
1. Playing Media

When you have found a media file that you wish to view, such as a music track or a video, click once on the "watch" or "listen" button just below that file.

This will launch your Media Player, which will then begin playing the audio or video selection. If you are having problems getting the player to work, please go to Player/Trouble- shooting for more information.

2. Where can I download the most up-to-date media players?

The following links take you to sites to download media players that work with our EPK. We recommend that you use the most recent version available.

For PC:

Windows Media Player

Real Player

For PC and Mac:

Quicktime Player

3. How do I set my Player preferences?

-Usually the preferences best suited for your system are autoselected when you first enter the preferences page. However, you can change them if you want by pressing the "Change Player Prefs" button at the bottom of the menu bar in the lower left corner of your screen. This button is also on the player.

-The choices in the player preferences window are as follows:

connection: hi (DSL/Cable)
low (Dial-up)

media player:
Windows Media Player
Real Player
Quicktime
Default Player (uses default system player)

Changing your "connection" to either "High" or "Low" determines whether the media available for preview will be presented in "Hi" quality, or relative "Low" quality.

-Changing your player somewhat controls the type of media that will be delivered to you. For example if you select Windows Media as your player, the media you view will be delivered to you in formats Windows Media Player under- stands. Selecting the default player will launch your machines preferred player.

-These preferences do not affect media that is available for download. Preferences only control how Preview media is presented.
